- 1457 – Henry VII - was born in Pembroke Castle, he was the first Tudor king of England he died in 1509 of tuberculosis.
- 1841 – Henry Stanley - born John Rowlands in Denbigh, Wales. He became a journalist and explorer and was famed for his search for David Livingstone, with well known phrase “Dr. Livingstone I presume’ on finding him in Africa.
- 1929 – Acker Bilk – born Bernard Stanley Acker Bilk in Somerset UK. He became clarinettist and was noted for his goatee and bowler hat, he wrote Stranger on the Shore for a British TV series.
