Comment Policy

Here at This Day in History we welcome comments but there are a few things that we would like any commenters to bare in mind.

Your Name

Please use a real name when commenting not just a company name that you are trying to link to or it will be ignored.

Linking

We don’t allow links within the actual comment text body as we know 99% of these sort of comments is for SEO purposes and designed only to be beneficial to the commenter. However, if it is a useful resource and relevant to the blog post we may accept it. If you wish to leave a link in the “website” field area of the comment form, please make it relative and helpful to the post in question.

Comment Text

We welcome all constructive comments on site but not just blatant spam. Be respectful of other people who comment as we are all entitled to our own view. No bad language as this will be instantly rejected. If you are selling something, it will be ignored. If your comment is totally off topic, it will be ignored. These sort of comments normally come from spammers who don’t actually read your blog and just automate replies. We like to hear from real readers who actually have something interesting to say about the post in question :) Basically, keep it on topic is all we ask.

Thats about it really, we do look through each and every comment and use common sense to see who is adding to the conversation and not just trying to sell stuff or gain some link juice. This policy may change or be added to over time.
